The World Bank lowered its 2022 GDP projection for China in the “World Bank China Economic Update – December 2022.”
Real GDP growth is predicted to fall to 2.7 percent in 2022 despite policy support before rebounding to 4.3 percent in 2023 amidst an opening up of the economy.
“Climate change, extremely uncertain global economic prospects, a more pronounced tightening of world financial conditions than anticipated, and escalating geopolitical tensions all pose risks to China’s economy.”
