German Economy Minister: Growth is currently seen at 2.2% this year, 2.5% in 2023, expecting no energy ban

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Wednesday that German GDP development in 2022 is currently seen at 2.2% and 2.5% in 2023, expecting there is no ban or barricade on Russian energy imports, detailed Reuters. If that somehow happened to unfold, he added, there would be a downturn this year.
Habeck included that Germany’s reliance Russian gas is currently 35% and said that Germany should follow through on the cost of higher expansion and more slow development for supporting Ukraine. Ukraine is battling for its opportunity, he noted, prior to adding that Ukraine is additionally battling for “us”.
