The US Department of Labor (DOL) reported on Thursday that there were 216,000 first unemployment claims in the week ending December 17.
This print followed a print of 214,000 the previous week (revised from 211,000).
According to the publication’s additional statistics, the advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2%, and the 4-week moving average was 221,750, a 6,250 reduction from the previous week’s corrected average.
