According to the most recent UK industrial and manufacturing production figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Friday, the industrial sector’s pace for recovery slowed down in November.
Manufacturing production decreased by 0.5% MoM in November compared to estimates of 0.2% and 0.7%, while overall industrial output decreased by 0.2% MoM compared to 0.3% anticipated and 0.1% last.
The UK manufacturing production data for November came in at -5.9% on an annualized basis, falling short of forecasts of -4.8%.
In contrast to the predicted decline of 3.0% and the prior reading of -4.7%, the total industrial production fell by 5.1% in the eleventh month of the year.
Separately, figures for the UK’s goods trade balance were released. November’s figure was GBP-15.623 billion, below predictions of GBP-14.90 billion and GBP-12.258 billion.
The overall balance of trade (non-EU) revenue increased from GBP 2.999 billion to GBP 4.666 billion in November.
