The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index increased to 108.3 from 101.4 in November, indicating that consumer mood in the US is continuing to improve.
This reading exceeded Reuters’ prediction of 101.0.
Additional information about the publication showed that the Present Situation Index increased from 138.3 to 147.2 and the Consumer Expectations Index increased from 76.7 to 82.4.
The predictions for the consumer inflation rate over the next year decreased from 7.1% to 6.7%.
