Simon Coveney, the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defense, stated on Friday that trust is increasing in protocol negotiations between the UK and Northern Ireland.
A landing zone on the protocol may be achievable in the next weeks, Coveney noted. His remarks come just one day after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that she has had encouraging meetings with Rishi Sunak about the Northern Ireland Protocol and is very confident that a solution can be found.
