During a meeting with US Trade Representative Katherine Tai last week, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao expressed worry over US trade restrictions against China.
Wang stated that he hopes to return Sino-US economic and trade relations to a healthy and stable track.
He noted that China’s manufacturing industry is still drawing foreign investment this year.
The preceding statements have had no effect on the AUD/USD, which is maintaining its gains near 0.6750. At the time of writing, the pair is up 0.35% on the day.
